Sana Khan returns, tells 'real' Kidnap story

Days after reports over her alleged involvement in an abduction case, Sana Khan finally came out in the open to tell the "real story" from her side. Sana, the leading heroine of Salman Khan's upcoming movie Mental, reportedly had gone missing ever since she was booked in the case.

Overruling all controversies, Sana was quoted as saying, "I am very much here, shooting for my films, attending events and performing at live shows in the last one month."

Times of India interviewed Sana who said, "It is not true that I wanted to kidnap a minor girl. I went there only after I was told that the girl's mother was a huge fan and wanted to meet me. In fact, the girl told me that she would join me later and asked me to go to her place with my cousin. The other two boys who have been dragged in the case didn't even enter their house."

The actress, a former participant of TV reality show Bigg Boss, also said, "My cousin insisted that I meet the girl. She was sitting inside an ice-cream parlour. If there was a problem between her and my cousin, why would she come out to meet me?"

Sana also tried to support her statements with logic and evidence. The young model-turned-actress said, "The CCTV of the building in which the girl stays should be having all the evidence - what time I went there and how long I was around - to know the real story. The spot where the family has alleged that the kidnapping took place is a crowded area. If there was any such attempt, many would've seen it. I was not hiding or covering my face; the whole world knows who I am today."

Sana earlier had asserted that the minor girl's family members have been trying to earn money easily after framing Sana in a false case. However, the actress also had vowed to fight with the situation to tell her "real story".

A case of abduction has been registered against Sana and two others in Navi Mumbai.Sana along with her cousin Naved Khan allegedly had tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl who had refused to marry Naved.

Naved and his two friends -- Kshitij Gopinath Dubey and Vismit Vilas Ambre have already been arrested by police. However, there were no reports about Sana's whereabouts.

According to sources, Naved and the victim became friends on social networking site Facebook. The relation came to an end when Naved proposed the girl who later refused that. Sana on April 30 allegedly had tried to kidnap the girl when she was returning from her tuition classes.

Naved and his friends allegedly had tried to drag the girl into Sana's BMW car. However, the minor girl managed to escape from the place and reached home. To her utter surprise, Sana, Naved and their friends were already there and were having a heated argument with victim's mother.

According to police sources, Sana accused the girl of ditching her cousin and threatened to teach her a lesson. The victim's mother lodged a police complaint against Sana and other three accused later on the day.

Police registered case of kidnapping, wrongful restraint, and trespass. Meanwhile, Sana's spokesman Ismail Sheikh overruled reports that the actress is on the run and said, "How can Sana kidnap anybody? Yes, an FIR has been lodged against her but that's because she was wrongly accused of forcing a minor girl to marry an 18-year-old boy."

Raanjhanaa' new song ‘Tu Mun Shudi’

One of the main highlights of the movie Raanjhanaa is its music, composed by AR Rahman. The Oscar-winning composer has indeed worked his mojo once again in the tracks like Tum Tak and Raanjhanaa title track. The new song of the film to release is Tu Mun Shudi. Let’s find out what this song, featuring all the three actors -- Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol and Dhanush, has to offer.

Unlike the previous romantic tracks which were as colourful as the bylanes of the mystic city Banaras, Tu Mun Shudi is serious, poignant, and appears as a situational track. One sees Abhay Deol as the dynamic young leader trying to solve the problems of aam janta, and he is well supported by his youth wing that also has Sonam Kapoor as a member.

The video of the track also focuses on Sonam’s adoration towards Abhay. But what clicks with you instantly is the starting of the video when both Dhanush and Abhay are shown dashing through the crowd on the streets. While the former is enjoying the moment and is playing Holi, the latter is trying to escape the police. Thus, parallels are drawn between the two heroes! Who will get the heroine?

Tu Mun Shudi establishes Abhay Deol’s character in Raanjhanaa clearly. Till now, he was only seen in the trailer of the movie. The track establishes him as a fierce and robust young politician.

Coming to the track, sung by Rabbi Shergill and AR Rahman himself, Tu Mun Shudi is about the strong will power to bring about a change. The song has its chorus in Persian and the rest of the lyrics in Punjabi. It is unique, and purely situational.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s cool romance in dialogue promos'YJHD'

Sweet romance of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are back on the big screen after a hiatus of six years. The ex-flames, now good friends, kept aside their past affair, and joined hands for Ayan Mukerji’s coming-of-age love story Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. As both the actors enjoyed working together, their chemistry has translated delightfully onto the screen. We look at some of the cool dialogues promos of the film to decode their new-found on-screen magic.

As Ranbir Kapoor plays a carefree boy Bunny, who is a vagabond at his heart, he doesn’t want to commit to love, but at the same time Bunny admires Naina, played by Deepika Padukone, for her simplicity. “Tumhari smile kitni dangerous hai, pata hai? Mere paas dil hota na teri smile pe pakka aa jata,” Bunny tells Naina in a dialogue promo.

What if Bunny never understood love? Naina has always loved him. In another dialogue promo, Naina makes a confession to Bunny about her feelings: “Tum samajhtey kyun nahin..Tumhare saath agar do minute bhi aur rahi toh..Mujhe tumse pyaar ho jayega ..Phir se.”

Then comes the most exciting promo when 'Bunny' Ranbir explains to 'Naina' Deepika that the basic concept of marriage is confusing. So, when Deepika asks: “Agar bacche chahiye toh?” Ranbir answers, “Uska shaadi se kya lena dena..woh toh abhi bana saktey hain..chalo mandir ke peeche.” This Bunny is funny!

All these short and crisp dialogue promos can easily transport the audiences to the world of Naina and Bunny and give a peek of the couple’s craziness, togetherness, freedom and madness.

Check out all the funny and romantic moments between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone here. Now you know what to expect from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, don’t you? Also, watch the making of the song Ghagra ahead. But first check out this heart-felt confession from Naina:

The curious case of the missing Sana Khan

Tinsel town has been buzzing with rumours ever since Sana Khan came under the spotlight for her alleged role in an attempted kidnapping case. Soon Sana Khan went underground prompting people to wonder aloud about her whereabouts.

However, close friend and her Mental co-star Salman Khan immediately took to his microblogging site in support of the starlet. TV actor Rajeev Paul also vouched for Sana's innocence.

Sana is wanted by the police for allegedly helping her distant relative in trying to ambush a 15-year-old girl in Vashi. The starlet has already applied for an anticipatory bail.

Sana's outburst

When reports about her disappearing act started to emerge, Sana took to Facebook on May 24 to vent her anger against the accusers. She wrote, "People have found easy way to earn money, but I will not let them do that with me, I will fight and get the real story out for everyone out there!!!" (sic)

Victim of circumstances?

When a Mid-Day correspondent knocked at Sana's home in Oshiwara, the domestic help opened the door and in due course informed that Sana's mother Sayeeda had been recuperating from a brain haemorrhage. Sayeeda apparently doesn't know that her daughter is wanted by the cops.

Sana's aunt who is taking care of her mother, on conditions of anonymity, said, "We don't want Sana's mother to know about it. She is already suffering."

According to the family, trouble ensued when Sana had tried to intervene between a romance gone wrong between her cousin and his alleged girlfriend. While her family admits Sana was wrong to mediate in a lover's tiff, they think her participation was blown out of proportion.

For mum's sake

Sana's aunt told us that she would be returning home within three days from a friend's house where she is currently putting up. She added, "Right now Sana doesn't want to come out in public. She wants to avoid any chaos that could affect her mother's health."

Apparently the starlet's father works as a cab driver in Dubai and Sana, who is the only child, has been taking care of her ailing mother for years. Incidentally, the family says that Salman Khan has been helping Sana out with the legal procedures.

Sana's aunt adds, "The girl's family even threatened to file a case against her if she didn't compensate them with Rs 50 lakh."

The building watchman informed us that Sana had not been home for the past few days. Apparently the white BMW that she drives has also been missing.

Salman's support for Sana

Salman Khan tweeted: "Y wld a girl kidnap a 15 year old? Fr money? To get her married, At 4pm in a populated area.investigate the complainants. Kamaal hai yaar"

"Poor sana,so sad. 1st let her b cm famous then try n get sm publicity from her. This is the problem chappo any thing galat bhi ho toh."

Is Sana married?

It looks like ever since the buzz about Sana Khan's role in the attempted kidnapping case surfaced, several skeletons are now tumbling out of the closet. If rumours are to be believed, the starlet is already married to a man called Asif Khan.

During her stay in the Bigg Boss house last year, Sana was romantically linked with TV actors Vishal Karwal and Rajeev Paul. There were rumours that even before she volunteered to get locked up in the house, she had already been dating Vishal. Her confessing on the show of being fond of the actor only fanned those rumours further.

However, sources say that Sana got married even before making her foray into the industry. Not only does her husband manage her work but also helped Sana bag some plum work offers.

A source says, "As her husband is very close to Salman Khan, it was not surprising that she got picked for Bigg Boss. He has been helping her shape her career."

Those close to her say that Sana is very cagey about her personal life with others and most of her friends don't know where her husband lives.

Madhuri Dixit: Rishi is more charming than Ranbir

Madhuri Dixit, who recently worked with Ranbir for a special song in Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani prefers Rishi Kapoor over his son.Currently Ranbir Kapoor seems to be the toast of tinsel town.

While filmmakers are chasing the actor for their films, most actresses are dying to work with him.

However, Madhuri Dixit, who has worked with Ranbir as well as his dad Rishi Kapoor, feels that the veteran actor is a bag of charm. While Mads has appeared alongside Rishi in films like Sahibaan and Yaraana, she features in an item number in Ranbir's upcoming film helmed by Ayan Mukerji.

Says Madhuri, "Rishiji is charmer for sure. He is very sweet and I had lot of fun whenever I worked with him. Ranbir is shy. On the sets, he too was very nice."

However, the actress feels that the younger RK is one of the best actors in town right now. "It was like a mutual admiration club on the sets. He is a risk taker and earns the applause for it rightly. That way he encourages directors and producers to make different kinds of films."

The dhak dhak diva is also impressed with Ranbir's dancing skills. "As a dancer he is terrific. He has a lot of energy and we had a blast together."

‘Policegiri’ trailer: Watch Sanjay Dutt play a ‘Goonda’ cop!

Sanjay Dutt seems to have taken an inspiration from veteran Tamil actor Rajinikanth for his film ‘Policegiri’ – the film will see the actor mouth “Mind it” time and again.

The film, directed by KS Ravikumar, also stars ‘Daangg 2’ baddie Prakash Raj and Prachi Desai in the lead roles.

The trailer of the film was launched Tuesday. The film has all the ingredients of a typical masala flick with some incredible action sequences stylised like the ones performed by superstar Rajinikanth.

The ‘Munna Bhai’ star is believed to have performed all the stunt sequences in the film without the help of a body double. And while doing so, suffered some injuries too.

Slated to release on July 5, ‘Policegiri’ is touted to be Sanjay Dutt’s first film to release after the actor surrendered to the TADA court after the Supreme Court passed a verdict on the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. Dutt has been convicted to 5 years’ jail term. The actor had earlier served 18 months in jail and surrendered on May 16 to serve the remaining 3 and a half years in jail.

Here's the trailer:

Katrina Kaif gets a tan

There are many similarities between her next two films. The differentiator: Her sun-soaked look!

Katrina Kaif is currently shooting for two films. Fox Star Studio’s Bang Bang (BB) with Hrithik Roshan and Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 (D3) with Aamir Khan. Both the films are action capers with loads of sizzling romance between the lead pair, thrown in. And the similarities don’t end there. In both films, Kat dons the role of a modern day ‘Fearless Nadia’. In other words, she plays the action ‘hero’ with various action sequences and both the action-caper-romances have her sizzle on the dance floor with the lead actors.

The big question? How to keep the two Katrina extravaganzas apart from one another? The brains behind the two projects have hit upon a great idea. We’ll see a sun-soaked Kat in BB. Says an insider, “The first thing Katrina did to ensure that the two films don’t look similar was to change her own look. In Bang Bang she is tanned, looking several shades darker than her usual self.”

Katrina is ensuring time in the sun on the Thai beaches getting her dusky look in place.

Also, great pains are being taken to ensure that her action sequences in both films are dramatically different. Everything from skin-tone to accent to clothes and hairstyle in Bang Bang will be different from Dhoom 3.

Jacqueline Fernandez to star opposite Salman Khan in `Kick`

Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently in headlines because of her break-up with director Sajid Khan, has reportedly bagged Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming movie ‘Kick’.

According to a leading daily, Jacqueline faced a tough competition from Deepika Padukone, who was expected to be the one working with Salman Khan in the movie.

The former Kingfisher calendar girl marked her debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ and after working with King Khan she sought this opportunity to work opposite Salman.

Padukone had been reportedly making her desperation to be a part of ‘Kick’ pretty obvious, but Fernandez bagged the deal all thanks to her striking performance in the movie ‘Race 2’.

"Also, Nadiadwala wanted someone who could give four-five months to the project at a stretch," a source said.

The source also said that Fernandez signed Nadiadwala’s directorial debut on Saturday evening, and the director has apparently confirmed that she would be playing the leading lady opposite Salman in his film.

Well, we just hope that Jackie and Sallu’s unique pairing give a strong ‘kick’start to the film’s publicity.

CATFIGHT ALERT:Kunal Khemu’s Birthday Bash Turns Into Fight Club

On Friday night, Soha Ali's swank new pad at Khar turned into a battlefield when two women let their tempers get the better of themselves. It was a party hosted for Kunal Khemu, who turned 30 with a successful film ( Go Goa Gone) to his credit. But the attention shifted from the birthday boy to the catfight between Arpita Khan and a certain Lisa Bocarro, who was there with Yuvraj Singh. Lisa's claim to fame so far as been a special appearance in Sohail Khan's film 'Fight Club' (2005).

The guestlist included Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan, Dia Mirza, Aditi Rao Hydari, Abhay Deol, Kunal Roy Kapur, Arshad Warsi, among others. According to an eye-witness, Arpita was chatting with a friend at the party when a social acquaintance called Mariam tapped her on the shoulder to say hello. Lisa, who was next to Mariam, apparently pointed a finger at Arpita and used the 'f' word. "A shocked Arpita could barely respond when Lisa let loose a volley of abuses at her and pushed her," he said. Those in the know say the outburst was not unprovoked - Lisa allegedly has been instrumental in driving a wedge between Yuvi and Arpita, who were friends till last year.

Meanwhile, Arpita retaliated and what followed was a heated exchange of words. Realising the situation was getting out of hand, the hosts tried to calm the women but failed. "Arpita demanded to know how Lisa managed to get invited to the party and that she should be thrown out of the place. She then called up her brother Sohail," the eye witness said. And the big brother was there in the next fifteen minutes. With neither of the ladies willing to give up, Lisa was eventually asked to leave the party and Yuvraj too left with her.

But isn't Yuvraj supposed to be close to Salman's family? The eyewitness said: "That is a thing of the past. There were a few misunderstandings last year." When contacted, Lisa said, "I am a very ladylike person. Foul language does not exist in my dictionary. There was a misunderstanding yes, but that was between Arpita and someone else. When I saw so much commotion happening around me, I decided to leave the party. And yeah, Yuvi also left with me."

Arpita said, "The incident was very uncalled for. I wouldn't like to be associated with such people." A friend of Yuvi called up to say: "The provocation came from Arpita's side. Yuvi even tried to play the peacemaker."

It is easy to impress Sonam, says Dhanush

South actor-singer Dhanush, who is paired opposite Sonam Kapoor in 'Raanjhnaa', says the actress never made him feel uncomfortable and was rather easy to impress.

"She is a sweetheart. She made sure I did not feel discomfort. She was quite patient when I was getting my Hindi wrong. She helped me a lot. It is easy to laugh, as I would have lost my confidence," Dhanush told reporters at the promotional event of 'Raanjhnaa'.

CAUGHT TOGETHER, AGAIN: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif!

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif – who have been denying that they are a couple since a long while now – have given wagging tongues yet another chance to gossip about their relationship status.

The two extremely good-looking Bollywood A-listers were spotted arriving in the same car for Karan Johar’s 41st birthday bash, and they were even snapped by the paparazzi in the car together.

The two “love birds” can be seen sitting at the back while ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ director Ayan Mukerji can be seen on the seat next to the driver.

If rumours are anything to go by, the two most sought after actors of Bollywood were seen getting close and also dancing together at Johar`s birthday party. Here’s the picture for you to judge

Buzz is that Ranbir and Katrina had a bitter break-up last month. But they patched-up later, and were reportedly spending quality time with each other.

The Kapoor lad had also been spotted picking Katrina up from an airport in Canada where the two had recently gone to attend an event, with sending the rumour mill buzzing that the two might have rekindled their romantic relationship.

The two young actors played each other’s love interest in the 2009 romantic comedy ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani’ and since then, they are in a relationship.

Well, it seems the two cautious actors are not ready to spill the beans on their relationship yet!

First Look: Sonam's fun time witth Ayushmann

Sonam Kapoor has begun shooting for Nupur Asthana's film with Ayushmann Khurrana

This snapshot taken on the sets has the star daughter fooling around with her co-star.

Deepika : I finally discovered Ranbir

Dressed in a bright orange jumpsuit, the matter-of-factness in her voice is undeniable. Deepika Padukone comes across as someone who has figured out everything. Thrilled about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, her second release of the year after Race 2, the 27-year-old says she listens to her heart more often than not. Excerpts of the interview:

Ques: How is Ranbir Kapoor as a co-star?

Deepika: I think this is our first film together because Bachna Ae Haseeno didn't do justice to us as an onscreen couple. Besides, we were dating then so the film just came and went. During the shooting of our upcoming film, I finally discovered Ranbir as a very supportive co-star. He's very patient and won't be annoyed even if I'm taking more time to get the shot right. A lot of this has to do with our comfort level, our history and the understanding we share.

And what equation do you share with him off the sets?
Deepika: We both started off as actors in 2007 so this journey from being strangers to being friends is what I cherish today. I take a lot of pride in his success. It's great to see his films do well and career graph soar.

Ques: As an actress, do you take criticism seriously?
Deepika: Criticism can help you grow as it shows what you lack although it can't tell you how to overcome your shortcomings. You'll have to do that on your own. Also, sometimes the critique can vary from person to person so I have to decide whether to let that negativity affect me or not.

Ques: Are you better equipped now to deal with being always in the limelight?

Deepika: I'd be lying if I told you that it doesn't bother me at all. Having said that, I've grown wiser with time. Earlier, if I scored a 10 reacting to rumours on a scale of 1-10, today I score like a 2 or 3. In any case, all the speculations are temporary because when your film releases, what matters is it has to be great.

You even adopted a village in Maharashtra?
Deepika: Yes, it's still my responsibility and I make sure I contribute funds to ensure electricity in Ambegaon. The idea is to educate kids and spread light in interiors of our country. Ironically, my name along with my family members' - father (Prakash), mom (Ujwala) and sister (Anisha) - means light too!

Ques: So how does your family react to your work?
Deepika: They watch all my films. Among my parents, my mom is more objective about my work. She'll always point out something to improve on. As far as the choice of films is concerned, I'm responsible for my decisions and nobody else.

Salman Khan gets over his Mental block

Salman Khan may be all about physical strength but his Mental strength was recently tested when action artistes from the Southern film industry forced a lockdown on the shooting of his latest film Mental.

They were unhappy with the treatement and remuneration received from the makers of the film.

Reports now suggest that Salman Khan has now overcome the Mental block and has resumed shooting for the film.

Apparently, Salman has now taken a decision to terminate the contracts of the disgruntled artistes and continue filming without them. Furthermore, we hear that the actor and his producer brother Sohail have decided to do away with the film credits for the said artists since they have hardly shot for the film.

Sources close to the film say Salman and Sohail Khan aim to release the film in the middle of December, weeks ahead of Dhoom 3.

Besides Salman, Mental also stars actress Daisy Shah in the female lead, Sana Khan, Vatsal Seth, Ashmit Patel and Mukul Dev.

The 29-year-old stars opposite Sonam Kapoor in the movie and is looking forward to rest of the dubbing.

"Finished first half dubbing for 'Raanjhanaa'. So happy with the film and the fact that I have managed to dubb. Come on! Bring it on second half," Dhanush posted on Twitter.

My father, my inspiration: Shruti Haasan

Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, says her father has been very inspiring for her.
She marvels at her father's dedication and says he has the same enthusiasm that a newcomer has for his work.
"He has been an inspiration for me, personally. Just the way I look at him deal with his career, how he works," Shruti said here.

"Even at this time, he does so much hard work and has so much dedication. He has the same enthusiasm that a newcomer has for his work and that has been very inspiring for me,” added the 27-year-old.

Shruti is also impressed with her father’s directorial skills and minces no words in praising him for that.

"He is a good director. He brings in an actor's point of view very clearly. When you see his film, you know an actor is thinking about how to direct the film," she said.

She doesn’t rule out acting in a film directed by her father someday.

After doing Bollywood films like “Luck” and “Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji”, Shruti will soon be seen in two more Hindi projects - “Ramaiya Vastavaiya” and “D-Day”.

While in the former, she is paired opposite producer Kumar S. Taurani's son Girish Kumar, in “D-Day”, she will be seen with actors like Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kaporr, Irrfan and Huma Qureshi.

Last year Sonakshi Sinha lost jewellery worth lakhs during a late night shoot of Joker. And now Huma Qureshi seems to have lost family diamonds that has apparently left her heartbroken.

Sources say a diamond ring that once belonged to her grandmother and most probably a few more baubles went missing from the actress' home. Those close to her say Huma is distraught.

An insider says, `Huma was heard telling her friend how she was robbed. The ring was really close to her heart. After a late night shoot at Karjat, Huma returned to her house in Andheri and realised the jewellery was missing. She could have misplaced it though.

Besides, she had to leave for Goa so she hurriedly packed her bag and left to catch the flight.`

It was only after reaching Goa, the 26-year-old realised that her favourite ring was also missing.

`She is obviously upset as it's more about sentimental attachment than the cost of the ring. It might have been an expensive sparkler but in this case, what matters is the priceless nostalgia associated with it. After looking around for the rock in the house, she finally filed a complaint at Oshiwara police station today (Tuesday) morning, ` adds the informer.

Huma did not respond to our calls or SMS.

WATCH OUT: Trailer of Kiran Rao’s award winning venture ‘Ship of Theseus’

Produced by Kiran Rao and directed by Anand Gandhi, ‘Ship Of Theseus’ is a film that explores questions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death. There are three main protagonists in the film – an experimental photographer, an ailing monk and a young stockbroker - whose stories the film narrates.

The trailer shows a young blind girl, who took photography as a profession after getting amused by the perfumer in Suskind’s novel. Also, there is a monk, who has been a closer drinker all along but abstains from medication to cure himself of his ailment. Why? Because he firmly believes that behind every medicine is an innocent animal’s life. And then there is a man, whose is carrying stolen kidneys in his body.

Sounds intriguing? Well, at least the West has lapped up this film very earnestly and the number of accolades this film has bagged before its India release aptly proves that.

The film will be released by UTV Motion Pictures in cinemas across India July 19, 2013. But till then, have a look at the trailer here:

Rishi Kapoor takes a dig at SRK

The chocolate boy of the 1980s, Rishi Kapoor, who has started portraying a wide range of characters now, has been leaving people spellbound. And the role of Ravikant in Yash Raj Film’s ‘Aurangzeb’ will substantiate the fact.

The veteran has all the reasons to wear a broad smile because not just his, but even his son, Ranbir’s career graph is only turning out to be prettier day by day.

The actor is believed to have shared some of his son’s decisions and while doing so, reportedly took a jibe at Shah Rukh Khan.

According to Papa Kapoor, beta Ranbir is least interested in playing stereotypical roles. Junior RK was launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Saawariya’ (2005). The film proved to be a dud at the Box Office but marked the emergence of an actor with talent in abundance.

Since then, Ranbir has essayed a variety of roles in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Bachna Aye Haseeno’, ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Barfi!’.

Apparently, Ranbir doesn’t want to play a typical college goer and dance around with dancers in the background like the way Shah Rukh used to do in the 1990s.

Times have changed, haven’t they?

Ranbir Kapoor undergoes surgery

Apparently, the actor went through a minor surgery recently to get a cyst removed from his chest It was a zip, zap, zoom session from the operating theatre and back for Ranbir Kapoor recently. The actor apparently got a cyst removed from his chest. He was in the hospital for a few hours only and was back to work the next day.

A source says that RK went under the knife on May 12 and is currently sporting a bandage around his chest. However, it has not deterred the star from promoting his upcoming film with Deepika Padukone around town.

An insider says, `Ranbir is also nursing a back injury these days. Ranbir was working till late evening on the previous day and was on leave only for a day. Post the surgery, he has also been doing city tours and visiting show sets to promote his film. It was a minor operation and the actor is now fit and fine to resume his work.`

Looks like it was not the first time that RK was inside an OT. The actor also underwent a minor surgery while he was shooting for Anurag Basu's Barfi!.

While Ranbir was unavailable for comment, the actor's manager confirmed the surgery, without revealing further details.

I am a very confused person, says Nawazuddin Siddiqui

For a man who started his acting career by doing 15 second cameo appearances in films and being unnoticed for years in Bollywood, winning a National award and rejecting more than 175 scripts is certainly a high point in his career. Yet, he remains untouched by all the glitter as a consequence of his spectacular success. Today, journalists are making a beeline around this rising star for either a byte or an interview. Such is the phenomenon called Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who got the loudest cheer from the audiences at the recently held National awards in New Delhi. Resham Sengar was one of the lucky few who got to speak to the in-demand actor during a tête-à-tête:

On being different from the herd…

The notion that a typical Bollywood hero has to be muscular and look dishy has been around for ages. But Nawazuddin is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ actor, who has managed to change the rules by romancing the pretty Huma Qureshi in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2’. Quite frankly, he is no Hrithik Roshan or Shah Rukh Khan. Yet, he is desirous of playing a lover in the films does in the future. But his average looks are not a deterrent to his acting ambitions. He says that there is a lot of scope for experimentation when it comes to making ‘real’ love stories. “Love story aisi honi chahiye jo real lage. Hum logon ko aadat pad gayi hai wahi usual love stories dekhne ki is liye koi khaas experiment nai hota” (Love stories should look real. The audiences are used to watching the run-of-the-mill love stories because film makers are not experimenting), he asserts. He puts forth his views by adding, “Love stories should be relatable. But what happens is the hero simply confesses his love to the heroine by saying ‘I love you’ and she readily accepts his proposal. But even now it takes time in a country like ours to make an effort to do that. Therefore, romance films should be made considering this state.”

Signature moves…

One of the perks of being a celebrity is that of signing autographs for fans. But this was something that the actor, who can keep the audiences spellbound with his acting, was more or less clueless about. Mujhe to autograph dena hi nahin ata tha. Isiliye main apna naam hi likh deta tha,” the actor makes an honest confession. He goes on to say,“Par Jab maine dekha ki baaki actors apne naam ke saath aur bhi kuch likhte hain tab maine bhi waise hi start kiya (I did not even know how to sign an autograph. I used to simply write my name. But when I saw other actors writing something more besides their name, it was then that I too started doing the same). At first, I was hesitant when it came to giving autographs, thinking that I am not even worth giving one. But slowly I got over that phase,” says the actor.

On his self-motivation strategy…

Quite obviously, failure can be a roadblock for anyone striving to make it big in Bollywood. But Nawazuddin says there was no room for de-motivation in his heart because he was not left with any other option except acting. De-motivate hone ka koi sawaal hi nahin tha kyonki mere paas aur koi career option nahin tha. Mujhe bas acting hi karni thi. Yeh nahin milega to kuch aur nahi kar sakta tha. Agar mera career aage nahi badta to bhi main Mumbai main hi rehta,” he says. (There was no question of getting demotivated because I did not have any other career option. I only wanted to act. Even I my career has not moved ahead, I would have opted to stay in Mumbai). But yes, he says that he did watch good films to perk himself up and get ready to face the world once again whenever disappointment showed its ugly face. “Jo dost the mere vo motivate karte the jaise ki Anurag Kashyap aur Amit Kumar,” adds the actor. (My friends like Anurag Kashyap and Amit Kumar used to motivate me).

On his film icon(s)…

“Icon to as such koi nahin hai par jinki acting se main influence hua hoon who Dilip Kumar ji aur Naseer sahab hain” (I don’t have any icon as such but I am influenced by the work of Dilip Kumar and Naseeruddin Shah), says the actor. He further adds, “I was impressed with the acting technique of these veteran actors. Talent sirf first film mein hi work karta kai. Lekin second film mein aapko film knowledge ki zaroorat padti hai. Aur woh knowledge aapko training se hi milti hai. (Talent works only in the first film. But in the second film, an actor needs to show how much he knows about the craft. And that comes through training).

On the trending 100 crore club…

Nawazuddin does not find the elite 100 crore club alluring at all. What he stands for is quality of cinema. “I don’t believe in the 100 crore club. But yes, films like Raju Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ are good quality films.” Ask him why he thinks so and he says, “Kyonki usme paisa zyada dikhta hai. Baki cheezein jaise ki performance aur story dab jati hain. But would he work in a film being touted as a ‘100 crore film’ much like he did (albeit a blink and you miss role) in his segment in ‘Bombay Talkies’?

“Of course, karunga. Agar film ki story acchi hai, sensible hai todefinitelykarunga. Agar aisa nahin hai to nahin karunga,”he replies. (Of course, I would do. If the film’s story is good and sensible, then definitely I would take up the project. Otherwise, I won’t).

On his triple hat trick at the Cannes Film Fest…

Even this year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will make his way all the way to the 66th Cannes Film festival that sees a huge turnout of stars from the world of cinema. And what is more exciting is the fact that this is going to be Nawazuddin’s third consecutive appearance in the prestigious film festival. Three of his new films – ‘Monsoon Shootout’, ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Bombay Talkies’ - will be screened at the fest. All these achievements truly throw ample light on the actor as the international face of the Indian cinema. And he could not ask for more. “I thank God that I am on the right track. I feel happy that I am being honoured for doing films of my own liking,” says the elated actor.

On his fame back home…

Nawazuddin says although he is married, his wife never had any issue with him romancing another woman on the big screen. Why? Because she was herself a small-time actress once upon a time. As for his village folks, he says that they are proud and here’s why: “Main jis gaon ko belong karta hun wahan art aur culture naam ki koi cheez nahin hain. Wahan ganna hota hai ya gun hoti hai. Wahan ke logon ko ehsaas nahi hua. Par jab se meri popularity badi to wahan ke logon ko art, culture, literature mein interest ane laga” (There is no awareness about fields like art and culture in place I come from. But since the time when my popularity has grown in the cinema, my village men have found an interest in art, culture and literature). He feels good to see that his success has made a room for societal change in his village. ”Ab ladke mujhe dekhte hain to unko lagta hai ki hum bhi kuch kar sakte hain life mein. Sirf gun ke alava kalam bhi chala sakte hain,”says the actor on a positive note. (Now when young boys look at me, they think that even they can achieve something better in life. They can wield a pen too besides wielding a gun).

As a person in real life…

Main sach bataun apko…main bahot hi confused insaan hoon” (Let me tell you I am a very confused person), reveals the actor very straightforwardly. Now that’s a fact hard to digest, and that too about someone, who can portray any character on-screen like a pro. “Bahot sari cheezon mein confusion rehati hai mujhe life mein” (I tend to be confused about many things in life), concludes the enigmatic Nawazuddin. Perhaps, it is better to leave knowing him better, for some other day.

Christopher Nolan to direct next James Bond film

'Batman' trilogy director Christopher Nolan is reportedly in talks to take charge of the next 'James Bond' film.

The 42-year-old filmmaker is in the middle of informal talks with Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson to helm the film, which will be the 24th in the series, reported the Huffington Post.

"It does no harm for Broccoli and Wilson to talk with Nolan, even if nothing happens this time round," a source said.

The producers are said to have discussed the ideas for the Bond 24 film and beyond.

Nolan is also a Bond fan and had previously expressed his desire of making his own film.

"It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things," he had said.

Rishi-Ranbir likely to do `Awara` remake!

Rishi Kapoor and his actor son Ranbir are getting ready to step into the former`s grandfather Prithiviraj Kapoor and father Raj Kapoor`s roles in an "Awara" remake.

And with the remake of `Awara`, the Kapoors` illustrious home banner RK Films would be grandly revived.

Before that Rishi and his talented wife Neetu would be seen on the screen for the first time with their son Ranbir in Abhinav Kashyap`s `Besharam`.

Rishi let out the big secret plan for the great histrionic plan with Ranbir and said: "`Besharam` was the testing ground for the two of us together on the screen. We would now like to do something deeper. A remake of my father`s `Awara` is on our minds. And in all likelihood, we will be doing it for our banner RK Films."

Rishi won`t direct the neo-`Awara`.

"No thanks. Direction is a thankless job. I don`t want to get into that space at all," said Rishi, who went behind the camera for "Aa Ab Laut chalen".

"I am very comfortable and happy as an actor. I just want to act. I am at peace with myself. I don`t have to think about anything except acting. I am having a ball. I`ve received loads of messages for my performance in `Aurangzeb`. I can`t be happier. The best most touching message came from Mrs Pam Chopra. I`ll treasure it forever," said the 60-year-old.

As far as "Besharam" is concerned, one now hears that Rishi-Neetu`s roles are being broadened so that the audiences don`t feel cheated by the playing-time featuring Ranbir with his parents.

Said Rishi: "Both Neetu and I enjoyed working with Ranbir thoroughly. I had fun working with my wife and son. But I still feel there should be more of Neetu and I in `Besharam`. My only grouse in this otherwise-enjoyable experience was the length of our roles and Ranbir knows it. So they`re trying to expand our roles. Neetu and I play cops. Our characters are seen off and on."

"The director is trying to increase Neetu and my roles. Of course, Ranbir and I have scenes together in `Besharam`, including the climax of the plot. But they`re trying to create scenes where all three of us can be together," said Rishi who gave hits like `Khel Khel Mein` and `Kabhi Kabhie` with Neetu.

Rishi says his earlier misgivings that Ranbir may be uncomfortable sharing screen-space with him, were completely unfounded.

"`Yeh aaj kal ke bachcha nahin baap hain`. In any case, `Besharam` is not a film that requires great histrionics from either of us. It`s light, bubbly and frothy and a little dramatic," he said.

Shruti Haasan: Thought I was too ugly to be an actress

Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika, always wanted to be in showbiz, but was skeptical about facing the camera because she didn't find herself attractive enough to be a heroine.

"I always wanted to become actress, but I always thought I am too ugly to be an actress. I was always in the sport, in the sun and always running around. I always thought heroines are so beautiful how will I be that beautiful? But I always wanted to be in the entertainment business. I always wanted to act, sing and be a part of it," said Shruti who also sings.

The 27-year-old, who made her debut with Hindi movie Luck, will have two releases on June 19 - D-Day and Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya.

"It is good it just so happened," she said about the simultaneous release of her two films and added: "I am happy that both are polar opposite films. For me, both the characters are so different from each other. In a weird way, it is nice that both the films are coming out on the same day. It just shows the range," she said.

The actress, who has featured in more than half-a-dozen films so far, including Telugu movie Anaganaga O Dheerudu, finds her journey unconventional.

"It's been a kind of different journey. It is not a conventional journey of a star. I have never been a conventional person. My journey has taught me a lot. There has been success and failure - they both taught me a lot. It's my journey and hopefully, will return more colours."

Nawazuddin Siddiqui celebrates 39th birthday at Cannes

It was what Nawazuddin Siddiqui calls the most memorable birthday of his life. He celebrated his 39th birthday with friends like Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Behl and Tannishta Chatterjee at Cannes. But he had nothing special to wear.

"What to do," asked the brilliant actor, who has four films in various sections at the ongoing 66th Cannes International Film Festival. "I had no time to get myself any clothes. 'Ek suit ghar pe padaa hua tha jo pehla pehna nahin tha. Bas wohi lekar aa gaya'.(There was a suit at home that I hadn't worn. I took it and came here)," said Nawaz who turned a year older on Sunday.

But clothes certainly don't make this actor's life.

"I feel blessed. To have four of my films here at Cannes, is like a dream. On Saturday we had a screening of Monsoon Shootout. On Sunday there were screenings of Lunchbox and Bombay Talkies. They were so well-received. I couldn't have hoped for a better birthday gift," said the actor.

In the night Nawaz's friends hosted a birthday bash for him.

"I had lots to celebrate this year. The overwhelming response to my films at Cannes is the highest point in my journey of the last one year."

"For 13 years I was given no room to grow as an actor. 'Kuch bhi milta tha main kar leta' (I accepted what came my way). Gangs Of Wasseypur changed my life. Today, I feel I've just begun my life. So this is my first birthday," he said.

Yami displays some cool Arabic skills

During a recent shoot of a TV commercial, actress Yami Gautam left the crew impressed with her delivery of Arabic language. Apart from Hindi, she was required to speak in Tamil and Arabic for the ad.

The 24-year-old "Vicky Donor" actress has worked in Tamil films, so she was comfortable with the language, but the real challenge for her was to perform impromptu in Arabic. She did it without any glitch, said a source.

"Since Yami has done movies down south, she was familiar with Tamil, but Arabic was a completely new language for her. But it didn't hinder her performance a bit. In fact, she was very determined and picked up the lines in Arabic really fast and within some time she got them right.

"By the end of it, she was able to deliver the lines like a pro and impressed everyone on the sets," the source added.

The actress recently completed shooting for her second movie "Aman Ki Aasha". A Hindi remake of Spanish film "Seres Queridos" ("Only Human"), the romantic comedy will feature Yami oppposite Pakistani singer- actor Ali Zafar.

To romance Sharman Joshi?

Actress Yami Gautam, who won accolades for her performance in 'Vicky Donor', is all set to be part of a romantic comedy which may also star Sharman Joshi

"We have confirmed Yami for her part in the film. She will do the film. We are still in talks with Sharman. Things will be finalised soon, " producer and writer of the film Anjum Rizvi told. Sharman was last seen on screen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari'.

The romantic-comedy film will go on floors in August this year. It will be directed by Shivam Nair. Reportedly, the film revolves around two very different people and how they fall in love with each other under unconventional circumstances.

Yami is doing another film titled 'Aman Ki Aasha', where she is paired opposite Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar. The film, directed by E Niwas and produced by Neeraj Pandey, is likely to release during monsoon.

Fox Star Studios has come on board with Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films to co-produce filmmaker's upcoming directorial 'Bombay Velvet'.

The Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma-starrer is based on Mumbai in era spanning from 1950s to 1970s. It is the first film of a trilogy on how the city became a metropolis.

"We are delighted to partner with Anurag on his next directorial venture 'Bombay Velvet'. What will make this cinematic journey unique will be the presence of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma as the lead protagonists," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, India, said in a statement.

Singh believes 'Bombay Velvet' is an example of "high concept cinema".

Officials at Phantom Films are excited about the partnership, says Vikas Bahl of the banner.

"We are looking forward to working together with Fox Star to create a phenomenal cinematic experience of this story for the big screen," Vikas said.

Kashyap, who is set to receive a French honour at Cannes and has earned accolades galore for his short film in 'Bombay Talkies', says 'Bombay Velvet' has a story that "fascinated" him.

"'Bombay Velvet' is my first film in a trilogy about Bombay before it became a Metropolis. It's a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now its fully ready and we begin shoot this year," he said.

Sanjay Dutt felt suffocated in the cell that housed terrorist Ajmal Kasab!

Sanjay Dutt was visited by wife Manyata and sister Priya in the Arthur Road jail two days after he surrendered before the TADA court on May 16.

The duo was relieved to see Sanjay been shifted from the egg-shaped cell that earlier housed terrorist Ajaml Kasab, to another cell after the actor’s lawyer orally appealed for the transfer before the TADA court. Needless to say, Dutt felt suffocated (perhaps due to the negative vibes of the cell that was once home to Kasab) and thus he applied for a change of his cell in the jail.

Priya and Manyata entered the jail amidst tight security and the press. Sanjay has been granted a few allowances by the court like home cooked food, medicines, a pillow and a mattress of his choice among other petty goods.

Watch this space for more news on Sanjay’s ongoing jail term.

Shahrukh Khan is a true Pathan: Kamal Haasan

Superstar Shahrukh Khan rules over the Bollywood industry along with the hearts of numerous fans all around the world. He has proved his star power on various occasions but more than anything he knows how to reciprocate his fans' love and affection.

Recently, King Khan attended a bash hosted in his honour at the Hyatt in Chennai and the air conditioning at the posh luxury hotel had conked off. But this could not stop SRK to dance for the entire Tamil industry.

Yes, Shahrukh danced at the party and was drenched from head to toe.

"He danced wonderfully on stage and it looked like he had come out of the bath and forgotten to dry," said legendary actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who was also present at the party.

"It was every celebrity-bash's worst nightmare come true. The air conditioning at the hotel broke down. We were all left seething and simmering in the heat, helpless, angry and bitter. Shahrukh was fully and formally dressed in a suit for the occasion. His condition in the heat was indescribable. But look at this entertainer! He pulled off his coat, jumped on to the stage and danced, although he dripped sweat like he had just had a bath," added Haasan.

According to Haasan, SRK forgot all his discomfort and kept on dancing. "It was just Shahrukh Saab (that's what Kamal Haasan calls his junior colleague) and the stage. He is a natural-born entertainer," said the Vishwaroopam star.

"Shahrukh is a true Pathan. A man of his words. I owe him a big favour," said Kamal Haasan.

Shahrukh and Haasan share very cordial relation ever since they worked together in Hey Ram (2000). SRK did not charge any money for the movie, saying that the honour of working with the great Kama Haasan was reward enough.

Huma Qureshi to do action in `D-Day`

Stunning Bollywood beauty Huma Qureshi, who bagged fame by Anurag Kashyap's directorial venture 'Gangs of Wasseypur', is all set to be featured in an action movie 'D-Day'. The curvaceous beauty is really looking forward for her role in Nikhil Advani's film.

While talking to the reporters at the launching event of People Magazine, Huma said, "This is really a very exciting role for me as I am going to do action in a film for the first time."

"It's sort of an action film. It's very real but, at the same time, it's very very slick. It is about agents going into Pakistan and getting back India's most wanted man," she said.

While in "Gangs Of Wasseypur", Huma worked with stars like Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in Vishal Bhardwaj's production "Dedh Ishqiya", she is working with stalwarts like Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi and Naseerwuddin Shah.

"D-Day", releasing on July 19, also features Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan and Shruti Haasan.

Four-film-old Huma feels lucky that she is getting to work with such living legends in her films.

"I am very fortunate because I am one of the newest (actors), but I have already worked with some of the best actors we have of our time, whether it's Manoj, Nawaszuddin or Irrfan, and then Arshad (Warsi), Naseeruddin Shah, Madhuri," she said.

"With each film I feel that my association with some solid actors of our generation is only getting stronger and stronger. I just hope that by being in films, that have such living legends as part of the cast, I only get to learn from them, by watching them and I hope I imbibe something from them," she added.

Huma was recently seen in "Ek Thi Daayan" opposite Emraan Hashmi that also starred Konkona Sen Sharma and Kalki Koechlin.

Deepika first actress to intimidate me: Ranbir

He vouches for friendly competition with his contemporaries, but Ranbir Kapoor confesses his "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" co-star Deepika Padukone is the only one in the industry who intimidates him.

Ayan Mukerji-directed "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has brought the real life ex-couple together on the screen after five years - their first and the last film together was 2008 movie "Bachna Ae Haseeno".

"I always expected from Deepika to reach very high levels, but I had no idea that she will become such a fine actress so soon. She is the first actress in front of whom I am a bit intimidated," said Ranbir, who himself has wowed people with variety in roles he played in films "Wake Up Sid", "Raajneeti", "Rockstar" and "Barfi!".

Talking about her growth in the industry, Ranbir said: "I felt like she was not doing what I expected her to do. That constant surprise was a good feeling. I know her so well. I know her advantages as well as disadvantages. She has turned her disadvantages into advantages. So, I am very happy for her."

Most celebrities are hounded by rumours and Ranbir accepts it as part of an actor's life.

"I can understand there is a demand for this. People want to know about their favourite actors and actresses - What they do? Who they can marry or not?

"But when it comes to you, you feel bad. But you have to focus on your work. Because when on Friday, your film releases, everyone forgets everything. It is part and parcel of the journey. You have to take it with a pinch of salt," said the 30-year-old.

Do you like to read about your contemporaries?

"We are curious... but we are all friends. We don't sit and bitch or gossip," he said and explained that "cold war" don't exist.

"I don't think there is any cold war. I am fond of all the actors of my generation - be it Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Imran Khan, Varun Dhawan - all of us are busy with our work, we don't really meet much. But we try and catch up at award functions and parties," he said.

He admits there is competition, but a friendly one.

"There is a friendly, healthy competitive vibe going on. No one wants the other person to not do well. We get happy and jealous when we see a good performance, but we all congratulate each other and encourage each other. I guess it is too early in our careers to have this competition," Ranbir said.

'Baazigar' sequel not without SRK: Ratan Jain

Producer Ratan Jain currently has no plans for a "Baazigar" sequel, but says he may do it after a couple of years, but not without Shah Rukh Khan.

"Yes, I am contemplating the idea of the sequel to 'Baazigar', but not right now. I am busy with my other projects. May be three to four years down the line, I will make a sequel to 'Baazigar'," Jain, whose brother Ganesh Jain had produced the crime thriller, told IANS.

"However, I will not make the sequel without Shah Rulh. So let's see how things fall in place. It's too early to comment on anything at this point of time," he added.

"Baazigar", the 1993 blockbuster, was Shah Rukh's first blockbuster. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the film introduced Shah Rukh and Kajol's pair on the screen as well as introduced Shilpa Shetty in filmdom.

Meanwhile, Jain is set to roll out the sequel to "Dhadkan" with a fresh star cast. The 2000 hit love triangle had Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty.

"The film is in its scripting stage. It will be a fresh film and not a continuation. We won't repeat the same star cast. It will have a new star cast," said Jain.

Dhanush impresses Farah Khan

Choreographer-director Farah Khan is so impressed with the screen presence of Tamil actor Dhanush, who is making his Bollywood debut with Hindi romantic drama "Raanjhanaa", that she calls him "screen friendly".

"I think Dhanush is one of the most charming, likeable and screen friendly hero I have seen in a long time! He is what he is and that makes it cool," posted Farah on her Twitter page.

Dhanush already impressed his colleagues down south when the trailer of "Raanjhanaa", which also stars Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor, went viral. Even Bollywood diva Sridevi was in awe of him.

"Dhanush comes across very effectively. Abhay as usual lends credibility. The film looks very promising. (I'm) looking forward. All the best," said Sridevi in one of her tweets.

For "Raanjhanaa", the love story of a Muslim guy and a Hindu girl, Anand L. Rai went behind the camera. Produced by Eros International, the film, releasing June 21, will also see Swara Bhaskar. a

Catch the first song of ‘Lootera’

Director Vikramaditya Motwane has re-created the magic of bygone era in the film Lootera, and has cast Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh together for the first time. It’s been quite a while since we saw the film’s trailer; of course, after watching it the first song was eagerly awaited.

So, here it is -- Sawar Loon -- the first song of Lootera in the saccharine sweet voice of the Indian Idol fame Monali Thakur, picturized on the beautiful Sonakshi Sinha and the debonair Ranveer Singh. Unlike the lingering somberness of the trailer, the video of Sawar Loon has a rapturous feel.

The song also gives you the little storyline of how the two lovers meet for the first time, because the video starts with a few dialogues between Ranveer and Sonakshi. Yes, it’s love at first sight for the two, and the song focuses on their growing fondness for each other.

Sawar Loon is composed by the talented Amit Trivedi, and the composition is a far cry from the contemporary Bollywood romantic songs as it takes heavily from the melodies of the 60s and evokes a sense of nostalgia.

The less said the better! Watch the sweet-silent love blossoming between Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh in the song Sawar Loon from Lootera:

IPLgate: Sreesanth mistakenly arrested? Shocked B-town reacts!

Indian pacer and Rajasthan Royals player S. Sreesanth has been 'falsely or mistakenly' arrested by the police, his lawyer said Friday.

Speaking to reporters, his lawyer, Deepak Prakash said: "Sreesanth has been falsely or mistakenly arrested. They (Delhi Police) have got some wrong information or mistakenly arrested him."

Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates - Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila - were arrested late Wednesday and accused of spot-fixing in Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. The cricketer-trio and 11 bookies have been charged with cheating and criminal conspiracy.

According to police, Chavan Friday broke down under interrogation and has accepted his role in the spot-fixing scandal. However, Prakash said the confession had "no value".

"They (players) have to confess before the court. Police can say anything, it has no value at all," said Prakash.

"Anyway, Sreesanth is not confessing. Though his name has been involved, there is no issue with Sreesanth. He will fight it out.

"He is completely cooperating and has explained his innocence," said the lawyer further.

The lawyer also rubbished accusations that Sreesanth used a towel to signal bookies, before the start of an over that he would be giving away runs, saying that a majority of players use towels due to hot weather.

"It's a very casual thing. Ninety percent of the players use towels. The match was played at 4 o'clock... the towel was needed," he said.

Celebs react to IPL spot-fixing

Following the arrest of Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandilia from Rajasthan Royals of the Indian Premiere League on charges of spot-fixing, and Indian pacer Sreesanth's involvement yet to be confirmed, celebrities took to twitter and registered their reactions. Here's what they said...

Shilpa Shetty: We at Rajasthan Royals in shock with this news, coming to terms with it. Will react once we have more info and concrete evidence on the matter. RR is a team that fights with integrity, Rahul being a front runner. Sad this has happened so close to the Playoffs. This too shall pass.

Raj Kundra: When asked the repeated question, is IPL fixed, my answer is always IPL teams can't be fixed, but individual players who lack integrity can.

Shekhar Kapur: Shocked at spot fixing in IPL? Why? It's huge stakes, financial manipulation and pure entertainment."It's not cricket O'l Chap" Of course it's not.

Goldie Behl: Cricket is now entertainment, should be viewed like a well scripted movie and betting should be legalised. #spotfixing

Mandira Bedi: Nothing hurts a game and its fans more than match fixing. Most disturbed to hear about the recent fixing charges. #Sreesanth #shame And the worst of it is that they play for a team whose captain is one of the most honorable men in cricket. #spotfixing #shame

Siddharth: A friend of mine said this today. 'The long walk uphill to restore credibility to cricket starts again'. Well said. Sad sad day. #shame

Rohit Roy: After a hard fought game at Wankhede last evening, woke up to the shameful and disturbing news about Sreesanth, Chavan and Chandila. Most frustrating for a cricket lover who lays out all his emotions while the game is on and quite a long time after... Sad.

Chetan Bhagat: IPL is private teams playing for money. If you think it's more than that, the joke is on you. It's entertainment for TRP. Anything goes.

Ken Ghosh: Shocking to hear about spot fixing in IPL. Punish those guilty.

Kunal Kohli: Match fixers should not just get life ban but should also be banned from commentating or anything to do with the game for life. Do not taint the entire game because of a few cheaters. Game is bigger than few cheats. Catch them, life ban them. Don't attack entire #IPL.

Manoj Bajpayee: How can a sports person go against his own team? Beyond any logic.

Other eminent sports personalities tweeted...

Harsha Bhogle: Money in sport not bad, like any other profession. It is what you do with it that's good or bad. Must educate, but that can only do that much. Maybe fear works better?

Ayaz Memon: Have to wait for evidence against players before passing judgment but what's startling is they belong to team which has won most admiration. Can't imagine what Dravid must be going through...

'Dhadkan 2' set to go on floors this year

Dharmesh Darshan's directorial venture 'Dhadkan' had hit the silver screen in 2000. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Shilpa Shetty starrer film bagged rave reviews from audiences as well as critics. The charm of the romantic drama produced by Ratan Jain has still not faded in the hearts if the audiences. Taking a dig at the viewers' response, Jain has decided to create the sequel of the film which will go on floors this year.

The film was highly liked by the audiences as it was based on a love triangle between Akshay, Shilpa and Sunil.

"The people have been asking me about the plans of making 'Dhadkan 2'. And I am really happy to inform everyone that we have decided to create the sequel of the film which will go on floors this year," Jain revealed in a statement.

Discussing about the theme if the sequel, Jain added, "The feel of the film will be the same, but we know that the the age has changed a lot and we will keep that in mind."

Titled "Dhadkan 2 - The Heart Beats Once Again", the sequel is expected to release in 2014.

Darshan will wield the megaphone for the sequel and he feels it will be challenging to replicate the success of the first movie.

Darshan, who goes behind the camera after a gap, says he is "humbled and honoured" and promises to "give 'Dhadkan 2' as much or more than I gave to 'Dhadkan' itself..."

"Yes, to follow up what is considered a classic is challenging," he added.
