Call me Kareena Kapoor-Khan: Bebo

Kareena Kapoor-Khan says she's finally getting the hang of her new 'beautiful' surname

It all started with Aishwarya Rai when she decided to go ahead and add Bachchan to her surname. After tying the knot with Saif Ali Khan, the latest entrant to this fledgling club in B-Town is Bebo. Earlier, Bollywood actresses usually chose not to tweak their established screen names post wedding. Needless to add, times are indeed changing.

In fact, Kareena Kapoor-Khan quite often ends up insisting others to use her updated conjugal identity. `I keep telling people to please address me as Kareena Kapoor-Khan. Besides, that's my name now, isn't it?

Although I've not converted, Saif is my husband and it's a beautiful surname to have,` states the actress with a glint in her green eyes.

On being asked about the positive response she received for her latest item in Dabangg 2, Kareena gives credit to its choreographer. `Farah (Khan) has done a fabulous job with the whole routine. I've never performed a pelvic thrust before in my entire career so yes, I was looking forward to an encouraging reception. The tune is massy: something tailor-made for the aam janta!`

Kareena will start shooting for Prakash Jha's Satyagraha next month. However, she says she doesn't have a dream role as such. So, which actors does she look up to? `I love Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie. They are not only wonderful actresses but also strong personalities. In my filmi career, I think I've done almost everything but I want to continue acting till I'm 80!`

Want more Indo-Pak matches: Cricket lover Arbaaz Khan

Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan loves to watch cricket, especially when the teams in question are India and Pakistan. He feels that the teams must play often as bilateral relations improve.

On Sunday, Pakistan beat India by six wickets in the first One-Day International (ODI) between the two sides at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

"It was great to see India and Pakistan battle it out on the cricket field. It would be wonderful to see these two nations play cricket often," tweeted Arbaaz.

"Cricket being played between India and Pakistan is a clear indication of improved bilateral relations between the two countries. Hope we continue to be fine with all our neighbours and maintain peace and harmony. It's the only way to move forward," added the 45-year-old.

Arbaaz himself indulges in the sport as a member of Mumbai Heroes, one of the six teams of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).

CCL is a non-professional men's cricket league in India. Its teams consist of film actors from six major regional film industries of Indian cinema.

Sandeepa feared 'bhai-behen' role with Salman

Actress Sandeepa Dhar has been a huge Salman Khan fan since her childhood, and when she got a chance for a cameo in "Dabangg 2", all she wished was for a role in which she didn't have to play sister to the star.

Sandeepa loved Salman's style ever since she had watched "Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!". Having nurtured a crush on Salman since her teens, being around Salman professionally was a fantasy come true.

In her debut "Isi Life Mein", Sandeepa's character is shown to have a crush on Salman and her character ends up speaking to him on the phone. In real life, she is as much a fan of him, and so when she was called for a cameo in "Dabangg 2", there was nothing which would have made her say no, says a source close to the actress.

She quietly checked the script and was happy the special appearance wasn't a sister's role, said the source.

"I used to tell Salman on the sets of 'Dabangg 2' that it's my dream to be in a film where there is Sooraj-ji (Sooraj Barjatya) and him together. Salman would say 'Yes, hopefully soon'," Sandeepa said.

Once Salman said "meri behen" as part of a dialogue in reference to Sandeepa's character on the sets. The dialogue was later edited.

"I am glad the brother-sister situation in 'Dabangg 2' got averted on its own and as far as I am concerned, he was the knight in shining armour who saved my character," said Sandeepa.

First schedule of Madras Cafe completed in south India

The first schedule of filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's new movie Madras Cafe, featuring John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri, is over. It has been shot extensively in south India.

"We have finished shooting the first schedule in south India. The first schedule was shot in various parts of south India. It was great shooting for the film," said Shoojit Sircar.
"The second schedule will be shot in Mumbai, abroad and again in few parts of south India," he added.

Produced by John, the film was earlier titled Jaffna. Asked about the film, Mr Sircar said: "It is a spy thriller, a simple story of a spy. It is a thriller set in India and Sri Lanka."

Shoojit Sircar's last film Vicky Donor not only won critical accolades, but went on to rake in the moolah at the box-office too.

15 Bollywood films to watch out for in 2013

The year 2012 belonged to innovative and brave filmmakers who didn't hesitate in experimenting with their characters and themes. It was one of the finest years for the Hindi film industry in a long time where the audiences showered good projects with their blessings. Is the trend going to continue in 2013 as well? A glance at the list of forthcoming films reveals that Bollywood is going to bank upon sequels and star-driven ventures in 2013. Here is a list of much anticipated films of 2013.

1. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola: Who wouldn't be enticed by Vishal Bhardwaj's gloomy backdrops! Pankaj Kapur doesn't need to brag about his acting skills, neither does Shabana Azmi. The spectators would like to decipher the secret of a pink buffalo or cow, whatever that creature is!

2. Inkaar: The theme is the highlight of Sudhir Mishra's film. For the first time any director has decided to showcase the issue of sexual harassment at the work place. Further, it's also about the master and his muse. Hopefully Chitrangada will be able to bring out the darker side of such a sensitive issue.

3. Special Chabbis: Neeraj Pandey gave an excellent film in 'A Wednesday' (2008). This time he has the backing of a superstar as well. Will Manoj Bajpayee steal the limelight from Akshay Kumar in 'Special Chabbis'? We haven't forgotten 'Raajneeti' and 'Chakravyuh'.

4. Kai Po Che: 'Rock On' might be criticised for its central characters and their class values but it was a well made film. The director Abhishek Kapoor is going to feature newcomers in a film based on a bestseller. Will the adaption be true to the story?

5. Chennai Express: Whatever you say but Rohit Shetty has emerged as the champion of slapsticks. Shah Rukh Khan is desperately in search of a film where he can prove his worth as an actor. Will this combination evolve as a lethal one?

6. Zanjeer Remake: Just because it is based on 'Zanjeer'. It wouldn't be justified to compare Ram Charan with Big B, but we will do it.

7. Ghanchakkar: Rajkumar Gupta is working with Vidya Balan after 'No One Killed Jessica'. At that time Vidya was just a good actress, now she is a big 'acclaimed' star and the only female actor who can sell a film on her own.

8. Shootout At Wadala: Does Bollywood have more stylish filmmakers than Sanjay Gupta. De-saturated photography and witty one liners will be the things to look out for. An army of actors will be a bonus.

9. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Don't judge Rakesysh Omprakash Mehra by 'Delhi 6'. He had made 'Aks' and 'Rang De Basanti'. Though the first look of 'BMB' looks more like a typical thriller than a biopic, it is going to be under scanner. The comparison with 'Paan Singh Tomar' is inevitable, which means Farhan Akhtar is going to be weighed against Irrfan.

10. Satyagraha: You can criticize Prakash Jha's films for bad acting or lack of pace but he always tries to prove his point with his choice of subjects. He is not likely to go back to 'Damul' or 'Mrityudand' brand of filmmaking in 'Satyagraha' but Jha is like coconut, even his bad films can provide fodder for thoughts. Will Ajay Devgn level the score with Manoj Bajpayee in 'Satyagraha' (Hope you've not forgotten 'Raajneeti')?

11. One Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again: If you are craving for old fashioned dialogue-baazi, Rajat Arora is your man. However, I am looking forward to it for Akshay Kumar as it is difficult to imagine Akshay as a crude underworld don (No, the character he is playing in 'OUATIM2' is nowhere close to 'International Khiladi').

12. Bullet Raja: Isn't the title very interesting! Just joking. Ramadhir Singh errr Tigmanshu Dhulia is presenting suave, sophisticated Saif Ali Khan in a film based in UP. Saif has come a long way since 'Omkara', so he also needs to go back to basics of acting in 'Bullet Raja'.

13. Besharam: Ranbir Kapoor's name has turned into a brand after 'Rockstar' and 'Barfi'. The Kapoor boy has shown a range of emotions but the tagline of the film, 'Na samman ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay,' suggests that he still needs to explore himself. Abhinav Kashyap gave a blockbuster in 'Dabangg' but the real test will be his second film.

14. Krrish 3: Hrithik Roshan is the new 'Ghajini'. The actor has developed a six pack abs for the film, plus the franchise is an already established name. Are we finally going to see a 'proper' superhero film in Hindi?

15. Dhoom 3: Aamir Khan will don a new avatar for the last big film of 2013 as 'Dhoom 3' is going to hit the screens on Christmas 2013. Moreover, a new director Vijay Krishna Acharya (Tashan) is wielding the megaphone this time. Are we going to miss Sanjay Gadhvi?

Shahrukh Khan: We couldn’t save u but wot a big voice u have, u brave little girl. That voice is telling us that rape is not an aberration, not a mistake… Rape embodies sexuality as our culture & society has defined it. i am so sorry that i am a part of this society and culture… I am so sorry that I am a man.I promise I will fight with ur voice. I will respect women, so that I gain my daughter’s respect.

Shekhar Kapur: Her greatest betrayal is that we will forget. Political systems’ greatest hope is we will forget. Our only redemption is if we do not forget.

Sonakshi Sinha: The girl isn’t dead. Instead she’s moved to a better place where no rapes happen. Too bad that place doesn’t exist in apna Bharat mahaan.

BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG: The Real Milkha To Appear Alongside Farhan Akhtar

In Bollywood filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s bio-pic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, we will see  the real Milkha Singh and his cinematic avatar Farhan Akhtar come together at the end of the film.

While earlier it was felt that keeping the real Milkha out of the picture would be for the best, considering how diligently Farhan Akhtar had worked in creating an on-screen Milkha, it is now felt by the film’s  cast and crew that bringing the real-like Milkha into the same line of vision as his acting counterpart would serve the very vital purpose of creating an instant connectivity between the film and the subject of cinema.

Says a source, “Initially Rakeysh Mehra and Farhan thought it wise to keep the real personality out of the film, as audiences would be tempted to compare the two and see how different they are from one another physically. But now when the film is almost complete Rakeysh is taken aback by Farhan’s likeness to the real Milkha. When seen together they almost look like brothers.”

Keeping in mind the similarity between the real and the reel Milkha Singh we would now see the real Milkha appearing at the end of the film.

Farhan, we hear, is  kicked by the idea . It remains to be seen whether the real Milkha Singh can act as well as Farhan can sprint.

Milkha Singh is not the only athlete who will be seen in his bio-pic. There is every chance that the real Mary Kom will make an appearance alongside Priyanka Chopra who is playing her in Omang Kumar’s bio-pic on the boxer.

‘No makeup’ for Sonam Kapoor in Raanjhanaa

For a  mainstream actress specially one as fashion-conscious as Sonam Kapoor,no makeup and no designer outfits, are unimaginable. But that’s exactly what Aanand Rai demanded and eventually got out of Sonam in Raanjhanaa.

It wasn’t easy to convince Sonam according to sources. Crew members from Varanasi where the film was shot report  “substantial arguments” between Sonam and director Aanand Rai over the question of a no-makeup look for the actress.

According to a crew member, “Aanandji was very clear that he wanted NO makeup. At all. Sonam had her own interpretation  of what ‘no makeup meant’ . There was much back-and-forth of opinion on this between them, since Sonam is a very fashion-conscious actress. She had never appeared without makeup on screen and to do so she needed to build a new kind of selfconfidence. To her credit she did finally relent, though not happily.”

The other greater problem was regarding the difference in skin tone between the lead pair. Sonam and Dhanush belong to two completely different schools of skin pigmentation. To co-ordinate their looks to a point of compatible screen-presence was reportedly not easy.

Says director Aanand Rai, “No matter how different Sonam and Dhanish might be in personality they finally had to look like two halves of one complete whole. If I may so, I’ve succeded in making Sonam and Dhanush  look like they were born to be together. As for Sonam’s look, she wears no make-up in the film. When my wife saw them together she wondered why all legendary love-pairs are from the past.”

Salman Khan praises Shahrukh on Big Boss6

Salman Khan opened up about arch rival, superstar Shahrukh Khan, on an episode of Big Boss that was aired on Saturday.

Not only did the actor speak about SRK, but also appreciated his hard work and rock- solid fan following.

This is what happened – A contestant Imam Siddique claimed that he was the one who made Shahrukh Khan the star he is.

Siddique is a casting director, well known anchor and a fashion icon. He got into an argument with the host Salman Khan last night after he nominated the house’s captain Niketan.

When Salman asked Imam to nominate a different person from the house instead of Niketan as he was the captain of the house, Imam stood by his decision defending himself saying he knows what the audience want. After Salman mocked him on this issue, Imam said once he had cast Shah Rukh along with Preity Zinta in an ad- film for a prominent brand of shampoo and that made him a star.

When Salman tried to interrupt, Imam blocked his words by saying “Time Out” repeatedly. Loosing his calm Salman said,” Shah Rukh is what he is because of his fans and hard work. He pursued his career with determination and not because someone like Imam gave him work in an adfilm.”

This is not the only buzz supporting their relationship in industry. Previously, at the premiere of Shahrukh’s “Jab Tak hai Jaan” sources said that the two Khans were seen chatting, having fun and they even danced together on the dance floor. It was confirmed after the Amitabh Bachchan’s where he said that he ‘had a nice time with the youngsters – dancing with Salman, Aamir, Shahrukh, Katrina and Anushka’ followed by a tweet by Shahrukh mentioning the same.

No distributor for Rajesh Khanna's last movie Riyasat

Legendary actor Rajesh Khanna's last film Riyasat was supposed to hit the screens on Friday, a day before the 70th birth anniversary of the late star. But the film's director, Ashok Tyagi, says the release stands postponed as the team couldn't find any distributor for the project.

The film is now expected to release in March 2013.

"This is Kakaji's (Rajesh Khanna's) last film, but every distributor is looking at it as a business. He was a superstar and nobody is bothered about his last film," said Tyagi.

"Everybody looks at this film with a business perspective. I was quite sentimental about releasing this film on his birth anniversary," rued Tyagi.

But he is still positive.

"I am still very optimistic about my film because Kakaji's performance is outstanding in the film. I am sure the film will find its own way. Now I have got to know that a few of them are deciding to release the film in March. So now Rajesh Khanna's last film will be releasing in March 2013," he said.

Asked if he took the support of Rajesh Khanna's family, Tyagi said, "I don't look at it that way. But if the family wants to take an initiative, then they are most welcome. But I personally didn't ask for any help."

For his role in Riyasat, Rajesh Khanna is said to have sat and watched the DVD of the 2005 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Sarkar.

Riyasat also features Gauri Kulkarni, Aryan Vaid, Aryeman Ramsay and Raza Murad.

Rajesh Khanna died on July 18, 2012 after prolonged illness and a liver infection, but he had wrapped up most of the shooting for the movie.

TRAILER: ‘The Smurfs 2′ Beware of the Naughties!

From The Sony Pictures Animation studio comes yet another 3D comedy ‘The Smurfs 2′. Though the first installment in the series ‘The Smurfs’ (2011) received a disappointing feedback, the movie performed fantastically at the International box office.

Directed by ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua’ Raja Gosnell, the teaser trailer to the sequel is out now! The sneak peak opens with a smurf telling us, “Deep in the woods there’s a village filled with joyful and happy smurfs, not far away from them the evil wizard Gargamel is upto something diabolical.”

Well it has all the ingredients of a ‘kid happy’ movie. Cute blue good guys, tall black evil guy, lots of comic moments and of course, magic! The plot line is straightforward: Evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence.

The sepia toned Naughties trick Smurfette into being naughty so that she will have so much fun she will never want to go back. It’s up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to rescue her.

Fans of Hollywood actor Neil Patrick Harris can look forward to his bang on comic timing reminiscent of his rendition of ‘Barney Stinson’ in the popular sitcom ‘How I Met Yout Mother’.

The movie stars singer and song writer Katy Perry as the voice over for Smurfette, Frank Azaria as the evil wizard Gargamel, Neil Patrick Harris as Patrick Winslow, and Jayma Mays as Grace Winslow.

Women make your life feel good: John Abraham

John Abraham on the essence of familial ties, keeping mum about marriage and his next film dedicated to the ladies

John Abraham is having the time of his life. With a series of recent hits in his kitty, the actor is quite upbeat about his upcoming films with Sanjay Gupta as well as Shoojit Sircar's next. While his romance with girlfriend Priya Runchal is blooming, the actor says he has never looked and felt better! An excerpt from an interview...

The New Year looks good for you. Are you planning to settle down soon with Priya?
I guess everyone will get to know once it happens. I have decided to keep quite on this topic now. You will really have to try hard to make me speak about it.

Are you going to do just action films now?
I have to live up to the expectations of my audience. It is true that all my three releases - Abbas Mustan's next, Sanjay Gupta's gangster flick and Shoojit's film are all action-oriented. The audience will see me doing hard-core raw action. I think we never had any particular superhero in our industry.

Gupta thinks that I will be the supehero after doing his films. It is a really big compliment for me. After watching the promos of the film, I have been told that I am the only action star around. It feels nice.

Is romance going to take a back seat as far as your films are concerned?
No, actually in debutant Kapil Sharma's film I am playing a simple guy in love. It is releasing in March around Women's Day and the film is my ode to women. I believe that your family, especially the women, makes your life feel good. The concept of a family is very close to my heart.

Next year looks good for you?
I don't really believe in making any resolution for the New Year but I think my best is yet to come. I want to be fitter and at the moment my production and the rest are going smoothly. I can't ask for more.

Sanjay's movie will prove to be a game-changer for me. My character of Manya Surve has turned out very well and the credit goes to Gupta and producer Ekta Kapoor. I am also working on my gym line. I want to expand soon to other cities as well.

Have you signed Farah Khan's next and the Dostana sequel?
I am not doing Farah's films. Unfortunately the dates coincide with the ones I have pledged for another project. I would have loved to work with her as well as Shah Rukh Khan but there is no point in stretching my schedule and I had to say no.

As far as the sequel is concerned I, Abhishek Bachchan and Tarun Mansukhani are all excited. Now Karan Johar needs to decide when he wants to start the project.

We heard you are helping your brother Alan set up his career?
My brother, who is an architect, is planning a huge project with Suniel Shetty. I would love to help them concepts but Alan has his ideologies. He tells me I should listen to him and I am okay with that. He does not like to be in the spotlight but he is a genius in his field.

In my family everyone has a strong sense of identity. If someone addresses my mother as John Abraham's mom, instead she will quip that John is her son!

Will only do solo-hero films now, says Nawazuddin Siddiqui

“Talaash was my last multi-starrer. I have decided to only do solo-hero films from now on. No matter how good the supporting role is, I won’t do it. All my upcoming films have me playing the lead. This is a crucial time for me. I have to be careful about my career choices. I don’t want to get
swayed by success and sign everything that comes my way,” says Nawazuddin.

Other than Suparn Verma’s Aatma with Bipasha Basu, Ketan Mehta’s Mountain Man and Sanjay Sharma’s Black Currency, the actor has also signed on theatre director Barry John’s film called End of Bandit Queen.

“The last is about Sher Singh Rana, the man who killed Phoolan Devi. We will focus on his journey after the murder. We plan to shoot in various places, like New Delhi, Bangladesh, Oman and perhaps Afghanistan too,” says Nawazuddin.

Nawazuddin will also meet Rana, who is currently in Tihar jail, and try to understand his personality and psyche. He says, “I believe in method acting, though it is mocked a bit in Bollywood. I like to get under the skin of the character and understand the mindset of the person I am portraying on-screen.”

He plans to focus on Rana’s life when he was in his 20s. Nawazzudin says, “I am thrilled that Barry chose me. I had worked with him years ago, and he says he remembered me from then.”

Priyanka had nothing to do with my acting break: Parineeti

Actress Parineeti Chopra, who made her Bollywood debut last year with Ladies VS Ricky Bahl, says she did not get her first break because of cousin actress Priyanka Chopra.

Parineeti cleared the air during an episode of television show Live My Life - Season 2 aired on UTV Stars.

Parineeti said there is this popular belief that she got her first movie because of her cousin, Priyanka, but the fact is that she knew Maneesh Sharma, who directed Ladies VS Ricky Bahl, since a long time and that's how she was approached.

Tuhin, a fashion designer from Kolkata, met Parineeti on the show.

Parineeti told Tuhin how she was called a tomboy by her father and he always told her to act feminine and classy. She said her father wanted her to behave a little more reserved instead of being the frank person that she is.

Tuhin gifted Parineeti a gown, that he created in one night, after being informed that he was selected for the show.

The episode featuring the actress will be aired on Sunday.

My birth biggest gift for all, jokes Salman Khan

Salman Khan is known for entertaining people with his witty one-liners and the superstar, who turned 47 on Thursday, was seen in a similar avatar on his birthday too.

Each year, Salman celebrates his birthday with his friends and family at his farm house, but this year, he says there is no party as such.

"There is no party as such. Friends and families have been wishing me since morning," the actor told reporters at his Galaxy Apartments home.

Though Salman says there is no birthday bash, reports suggest that he, along with his family, will leave for Panvel in the afternoon, where there will be a celebration with close family and friends.

Never discouraged daughters from anything: Anil Kapoor

Bollywood is a tough industry and maybe his daughters Sonam and Rhea could have chosen something "safer" but proud papa Anil Kapoor says he has always encouraged them to do whatever they wanted to and will continue to back them in their endeavours.

"This is a tough industry. You feel that it's better if your children choose something else which is safer, which is less speculative, which is less in the face. Here both success and failure are for public scrutiny. In other professions, even if you can't make it or you change your profession, no one will get to know," Anil Kapoor told IANS in an interview.

"This is a very, very challenging profession. And they have decided to be in it; so I have encouraged them (daughters); I have never discouraged them," he added.

While Sonam, 27, has made her mark in Bollywood as an actor, Rhea, 25, prefers to stay behind the camera.

Apart from being a fashion designer, Rhea worked as assistant director on Wake Up Sid and went on to produce her first film Aisha in 2010. She is now working on a new film titled Herogiri.

Though Sonam and Rhea started working at a young age, they still have fun like all other young girls, said Anil, who also has a son, Harshvardhan.

"Instead of wasting time or doing something else, they started working. It is not that they don't have fun. They have fun the way all the young girls should have. But they became conscious of work, work ethics and respected work at a very young age, which is very good and that I am very proud of," said the 53-year-old.

Sonam made her Bollywood debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya, which failed at the box-office, but Anil is unfazed.

"When your first film becomes a blockbuster, it is very dangerous. You stop growing as a person because then you've got everything easily. Her film not doing well is also a very good thing according to me. Both Ranbir and Sonam are working and are doing films which they believe in, which they like, with good directors and good producers," he said.

Sonam, who assisted Mr Bhansali when he was making Black, credits her father for being instrumental in shaping her career, but Anil refuses to take the credit.

"It is her upbringing which makes her say that she is privileged to be my daughter. But I can say very proudly that whatever she is today is completely because of her. The way she became an assistant and started working. It was not easy. She has come up the hard way," he said.

Anil Kapoor feels Sonam has chosen a tough path, but is confident that her hard work will pay off.

"She works in different projects, which shows her inner confidence. She has chosen a very tough path. But trust me it will be very solid," said the actor, who will soon be seen in Race 2, releasing on January 25.

R Madhavan chosen as PETA Person of the Year

Film actor R Madhavan has been chosen as 'Person of the Year' by animal rights advocacy group People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The Tanu Weds Manu star has been chosen for the honour for actively promoting vegetarianism "as the best way to help stop animal suffering, cut down on pollution, fight climate change and improve your health," PETA said in a statement.

"Madhavan is a long-time friend of PETA and has often volunteered his time to defend the rights of animals... (he) bolstered PETA's Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaign by sending a letter to the CEO of KFC's parent company, Yum! Brands, urging him to adopt PETA's recommendations to stop the worst abuses of chickens who are killed for KFC - including scalding birds to death," it said.

His significant contribution to PETA was his narrating Glass Walls, a video expose on meat industry, it said. The award has been sent to the actor, it added.

Is Anushka Sharma ignored Salman royally?

Bollywood’s latest hot property Anushka Sharma, who made her debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, seems to be committed to her camp!

She is a regular feature in SRK’s camp and looks most comfortable in his company. She seems to have been smitten by her first co-star so much that she went on to snub his arch rival Salman Khan during an event.

A source while talking to Mid-day said, “At the event, Imran was seen greeting Salman Khan backstage. Anushka was also in the vicinity but she seemed in no mood to acknowledge Sallu’s presence. She even walked past Imran and Salman while they were chatting. Imran did not stop her in her tracks and nor did Anushka seem to be in a mood to. It may have appeared strange but everyone knows that both belong to different camps.”

So, doesn’t Anushka believe in being in the good books of Salman Khan?

Imran follows the footsteps of uncle Aamir

Actor Imran Khan is following in the footsteps of his uncle Aamir Khan and pasting posters of his new film "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" on taxis. Imran recounts the similarity between his way and what Aamir once did.

"Twenty four years ago Aamir uncle pasted the posters of his film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. I remember him telling the story that he and my mother were roaming around the by-lanes of Bandra and seeking the permission of rickshaw drivers to paste the posters of his film and telling them that he is the hero of the film," the 29-year-old said here Monday while promoting the film.

"Flash forward 24 years and I find myself doing the same thing. Actually in our city public transport is the most important thing whether it is rickshaw, taxis or buses, it has always been the lifeline of the city. I think it is the easiest way to communicate and reach out to the people," he added.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" also features Anushka Sharma, Pankaj Kapur and Shabana Azmi. It hits theatres Jan 11.

A look of Murder 3 Poster copied

Inspiration comes in many forms, but for Bollywood inspiration comes more often than not from films across the seven seas. In the past, we have had many Bollywood films copying their first look posters from that of their Hollywood counterparts; we now have another one that joins the list.

The poster of the 2009 film Jennifer's Body which was directed by Karyn Kusama was in fact earlier copied by the American television series True Blood that featured a similar poster with a hint of fangs peeking from half opened lips.

Murder 3 directed by Vishesh Bhatt, stars Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydari and Mona Laizza. The poster again features a similar shot, only this time replacing the fangs with a thorny rose stalk.

Take a look at the poster for Murder 3. Doesn't it remind you of poster for Jennifer's Body?

For Raveena, home means 'comfort'

Actress Raveena Tandon has her own mantra for interior designing, and it revolves around a single word - comfort.

Gracing an event here that unveiled the anniversary issue of a home decor and interior magazine, Raveena stressed the fact that a home should appear "lived-in and warm" and should not feel like a hotel.

"I mostly see the comfort level. I have a family, so I see to it that my children and husband are comfortable. A home should have its own atmosphere," said Raveena, who was last seen on screen in the Puri Jagannath directed "Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap" opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 2011.

"There should be a difference between a hotel and a home. A home should look lived-in and warm. There should be positive vibes. And that is what I have tried to do in my house," added Raveena, who made her debut in the 1991 hit "Patthar Ke Phool".

Among the top actors of the 1990s, she had hits like "Mohra" in 1994, "Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi" in 1996 and "Ziddi" in 1997.

Earlier this year, she made her small screen debut with a chat show called "Isi Ka Naam Zindagi".

Raveena married film distributor Anil Thadani in 2004 and is mother of a seven-year-old daughter and a son, who is five.

Prachi Desai's new film look inspired by Kate Winslet

As the horror flick will be shot in England and her character is that of belonging to a royal aristocratic family, the makers are seeking inspiration from Kate Winslet's styling in Titanic.
Prachi Desai's styling in her upcoming film is inspired by Kate Winslet's look in Titanic. In her B-Town outings so far, Prachi Desai has always played roles of the girl-next-door. But for her next film produced by Vikram Bhatt, she will be seen in a new avatar.

As the horror flick will be shot in England and her character is that of belonging to a royal aristocratic family, the makers are seeking inspiration from Kate Winslet's styling in Titanic.

Says a unit source, "Her look is said to be very regal and classy according to the film's backdrop. It has an Edwardian-era charm and will be shot in the castles of UK. The makers feel the Hollywood star's look in the Oscar-winner goes well with her screen persona. She will be seen in gowns with extensive use of lace, sequins and beads. It is like what the yesteryear British aristocrats wore including a hat."

Adds the source, "Prachi is particularly excited to have a Western royal look as it will also give her an image makeover. She is looking forward to begin work on the project."

The film is being directed by debutant Tinu Suresh Desai and goes on the floors in March. Meanwhile Prachi also features with Sanjay Dutt in the remake of the South film Saamy.

I wish, I was part of 'Rockstar': Deepika Padukone

If Deepika Padukone is satisfied after doing romantic comedy "Cocktail" in 2012, she wishes she had been part of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer 2011 musical hit "Rockstar".

"I am more than happy I was part of 'Cocktail'. It was the most satisfying experience to do the film. The audience really appreciated me a lot in 'Cocktail'," Deepika told IANS.

"So this year, I am extremely happy about 'Cocktail' and have no regrets. But if you ask me about last year, then yes, I would say, I wish I was part of 'Rockstar'."

The actress had dated Ranbir for some time and even featured with him in the hit movie "Bachna Ae Haseeno" before parting ways.

"Rockstar", a musical extravaganza that rocked the box office, was helmed by Imtiaz Ali who roped in Pakistani American Nargis Fakhri as Ranbir's love interest in the movie.

If Deepika pats herself for doing "Cocktail", she candidly admits that some of her films disappointed her.

"I don't regret anything but, yes, I have been disappointed with two to three films that I did in the last two years," the 26-year-old said.

"I put equal amount of effort to each and every film but when it doesn't work, it is very disappointing. All of us face ups and downs in our lives, but all we can do is we can learn from our experiences."

However, she refused to name those disappointing films, saying it would be "unfair to name any films because ultimately it's me who had chosen the film ... so I would never name them".

Rajeev Khandelwal open to interesting roles on TV

Rajeev Khandelwal rose to fame with his roles in TV shows Kahiin Toh Hoga and Left Right Left, but gave up the medium to try his luck in films. The actor says he is open to coming back on the small screen if he gets something interesting to do.

"If something really interesting comes up and it suits my journey, then I will take it up. But it has to be very interesting," said Rajeev.

Rajeev forayed into television with TV show Kahiin Toh Hoga as Sujal and rose to instant fame. He remained on top of the popularity charts with his second show Left Right Left and later shifted to the big screen.

However, the actor feels that television stars work harder than anyone else.

"They (TV actors) are far more capable than everyone else. They work round the year, every day, without letting the audience get bored with them. Also it is just a myth that television actors don't get roles in films. I feel they work very hard at what they do," he said.

Rajeev has been part of films like Aamir and Shaitan and has also hosted two seasons of reality show Sach Ka Saamna. The actor says he doesn't look at the medium and just enjoys his work.

"I enjoy the project. For me, the medium doesn't matter. I don't think that there has been any project, which I haven't enjoyed thoroughly," said Rajeev.

It was this passion for his work which led him to the film industry as well and Rajeev will now be seen in the new film Table No. 21, releasing January 4.

"I didn't do films thinking there is a lot of glamour associated with the film industry. I love doing what I do," he said.

"There are a few things, but I don't want to talk about it. Sometimes they don't shape up and people who follow my body of work often get disappointed. So right now its just 'Table No. 21'," said Rajeev talking about his future projects.
